ILEX GLABRA GEM BOX
Grower Notes:

Ilex glabra 'SMNIGAB17' PP27554 is commonly referred to as Gem Box® Inkberry Holly. It is noteworthy for its dwarf, dense, ball-shaped habit that resembles a boxwood rather than an inkberry. This Proven Winners® Color Choice® female Inkberry features small, evergreen leaves with attractive red tips in spring. Its branching is to the ground so no bare spots! The perfect pollinator for Gem Box® or Strong Box® is Ilex glabra Squeeze Box™. Very small berries will appear only if another Ilex glabra is in the area such as the Strong Box™.

Gem Box® Inkberry Holly thrives in full sun to partial shade in rich, acidic, evenly moist, well-drained soil. It is slow-growing and disease resistant and makes a great Boxwood substitute. Ideal for mixed shrub borders, small gardens or containers.
